FAQs

Are programs such as Skylliance the future of the industry?

We firmly believe that alliances will be the future in our industry. Today the worldwide charter industry is very fragmented and consists of hundreds of air charter operators with different standards and procedures. As a result, customers are asking more and more for consistent flight services.

Are there any other benefits for Jet Aviation which will also benefit customers?

Jet Aviation sets the service and flight safety standards within the alliance. In addition, through discounted rates negotiated within Skylliance, we can offer competitive rates to customers.

Besides Executive Airlines who has become a Skylliance member, what are the names of the other air charter operators you have signed memorandums of understanding with?

Because of confidentiality reasons we do not want to release the names of air charter operators we are currently in negotiations with. Once these memorandums of understanding result in agreements we will immediately release the information.

Do other such alliances already exist?

Not in this form. Since the early 90s, partnership and vendor programs have been initiated by larger charter companies. Jet Aviation also maintains partnership programs in North America and Europe. However, Skylliance is the first branded program to ensure that the same operations and service standards are practiced on all aircraft and that its members are visually recognized.

Do Skylliance members only provide lifts or do they have a voice in this program?

It is very important to us that Skylliance members have an active voice in the program. We are going to establish a steering committee to discuss issues such as safety, service, quality and strategy of the program. The committee will also have a say when it comes to accepting new members. However, Jet Aviation will always have the final decision.

How do you think competitors will react to Skylliance?

We believe that some of our competitors will join Skylliance because they see the value of this program, especially those smaller air charter operators that can not afford proactive marketing and sales activities.

How does an air charter operator become a member of Skylliance?

Air charter operators interested in the program must have their own procedures in place in accordance with their respective Civil Aviation Authorities (JAR-Ops1 / EASA) and an unblemished safety record. Each operator will need to complete a special audit program developed by Jet Aviation. Furthermore, air charter operators will be selected by regional needs and fleet composition that the market requires.

How is quality ensured within the Skylliance network?

To ensure that the program delivers its promises and maintains the highest level of quality, Jet Aviation will carry out annual audits on each member.

How is Skylliance different from other air charter operators or fractional providers?

Skylliance is more than a simple lift. Customers receive from Jet Aviation services and personal attention that are above industry standards. We bring to Skylliance this same commitment to individual and tailor-made services. We want customers to recognize that something has changed when they fly with a member of Skylliance by offering the best suitable solution in travel services and flexibility — no matter which operator they fly within the alliance.

How many people does Skylliance employ?

Skylliance will be run by a Jet Aviation Business Jets team consisting of nine staff members led by Martin Bernegger, Senior Vice-President/General Manager and Graciela Buschor, Director Marketing & Customers Relations.

How will customers benefit from Skylliance?

Firstly, customers will have only one point of contact and secondly, they will have access to a wide aircraft fleet operating under the same stringent flight safety and service standards. They will feel the difference in customer attention throughout the entire process when booking a flight and flying with a member of the program.

What is Skylliance’s growth expectation?

It is important to see how the market reacts. We are conservative in our growth predictions because we only want to add operators that meet our rigorous flight safety and service standards and who offer the right mix of aircraft in the different regions. Conservative estimates are to have a minimum of 50 aircraft in the Skylliance fleet by end of 2008.

What is the aircraft mix in Skylliance?

We want to offer a wide variety of aircraft of all size, range and price from a Citation CJ1 to a BBJ or ACJ.

What is the fee of the one-time entrance charges?

The one-time entrance fee depends on several factors which influence the total amount. We consider several aspects such as if the operator is a Jet Aviation customer or not, aircraft fleet they would bring to the alliance, etc. The operators we are currently in negotiations with are exempted of a one-time entrance fee since we consider them as launching partners.
